Trade & Holds

Light blue settles over this twenty-piece setting with the openness of sky, creating an unusually airy service that asks very little of the rest of the table. Made in Japan for Nancy Calhoun between approximately 1987 and 1999, the group pairs six dinner plates with six rimmed soup bowls—two clean layers for each guest. There are an additional four bread/butter plates. The named maker, country of production, and intact quantities keep the set's history clear and its use straightforward. The color is the strength: soft enough for white linen, distinct against dark wood, and adaptable to silver, brass, or simple stainless flatware.
