Shipping policy

Shipping & Delivery

Every piece is packed by hand in Ojai with the same care we give to finding it.

When your piece ships. Most pieces ship within 3–5 business days of purchase. Fine art and large pieces ship within 14 business days once shipping has been arranged.

How we ship. Most orders travel by USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail. Shipping is calculated at checkout from your piece's packed size, weight and destination, and includes a modest charge for packing materials. We ship within the United States only.

Fine art and large pieces. Original artwork, larger framed works and oversized pieces are packed and insured to their size and value, so each is quoted individually. These listings show "Arrange Shipping & Purchase" in place of Add to Cart. Write to us at hello@fisherjamescalifornia.com naming the piece, and we'll reply with a shipping quote and a secure invoice. Depending on the piece, we may recommend crating, a specialist art shipper or freight.

Insurance. Every shipment is insured for its purchase price. For quoted pieces, insurance is included in your quote.

Local pickup in Ojai. Collectors nearby are welcome to collect their piece by appointment. We are not a storefront, so please write to us before purchasing; we'll arrange a time and send an invoice without shipping.

Damage in transit. If your order arrives damaged, tell us within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs of the piece, the packaging and the shipping label. Please keep all packaging until the claim is resolved, as the carrier may require it. Shipping charges are non-refundable except where the error was ours.

Tracking. Tracking is emailed as soon as your order ships. Questions? Reply to your shipping confirmation or write to us.

One decision for you: the insurance line promises full coverage. That means buying extra insurance on the label for anything over $100, which your $5 and $10 handling fees are sized to cover. If you'd rather not promise that, change it to "Shipments are insured up to $100; additional coverage is available on request."
