A soft blue garland travels from plate to bowl, carrying one gracious pattern across a complete table for six. Johann Haviland produced Blue Garland in Bavaria from 1974 to 1990, and this 31-piece service has remained together: six five-piece settings of dinner, salad, soup, bread-and-butter, and fruit or dessert pieces, joined by an 8.5-inch footed vegetable bowl. The completeness gives the group an easy rhythm that cannot be replicated by a pieced-together assortment, while the familiar blue-and-white palette feels formal without becoming remote. Each form has its own proportion, but the repeated garland makes the table read as one composition. This is porcelain meant to return to use, carrying its postwar Bavarian provenance into new meals rather than waiting behind glass.
