Signed Italian Hand-Painted Pumpkin Tea Set for Three

Pumpkin cups settle onto leaf-shaped saucers while the lidded teapot completes the garden composition—a tea service conceived as one small autumn world. Hand-painted in Italy during the 1960s–1970s, the set is signed "A.G.," a mark preserved without stretching the attribution to an unidentified studio. Three cups, three saucers, and the 9.5-inch-wide teapot have remained together, so the modeled forms can still speak to one another as intended. The teapot stands about 5 inches high; the cups are low and open, and the leaf saucers extend the subject beyond the vessel itself. The intact ensemble preserves a hand-painted character that could not be duplicated exactly. In a breakfast nook, a walnut tray can hold the cups lightly on their leaves until the first cool evening calls the complete pumpkin service back to the table.
